Shaw Family Vintners
Around a century ago, “Windjammers” were the rhinos of the sailing fleets. With hulls of steel, multiple masts and big square sails, they had presence standing still, but when needed, they could charge through the roughest weather at up to 16 knots on average. We reckon this Shiraz is a lot like the Windjammer, big and bold for the moment but with the voyage of a few more years, it will be the stuff of legend.
Sourced from deep rooted old vines and aged in American & French Oak barrels for 18 months, this is a fine example of McLaren Vale Shiraz. Aromas of plums on the nose, blueberries and spices generous on the palate, it finishes with subtle pepper overtones and an impression as big as its namesake. Enjoy it now or put it away for awhile - it will love the test of time.
